Our group project of making 10" star blocks for veteran quilts was a success! The pile of blocks added up and it made a total of 4 quilts. We should recognize Betsy as one who made 8 blocks and then made 4 more to make her own quilt. Thank you Betsy for always going above and beyond with amazing quilts. I don't have a picture of her quilt to share, but the pile of blocks made 3 more quilts! Pretty awesome, isn't it! I want to thank everyone who made a block (or 2). There were only a few blocks leftover. The quilt with blue sashing was finished with a blue border. These tops are now ready to be quilted and then bring comfort to a veteran.
NEXT PROJECT: I want to continue collecting blocks for veteran quilts and I will sew them together on Friday/Saturday sewing days. . .and I think we might be ready to step away from RED/WHITE/BLUE for a while, so what are your thoughts about us doing an EYE-SPY type quilt? I knew several of you have done these in the past, and I was wondering if you think this would be fun for a veteran quilt. Anybody have a supply of appropriate fabrics? We can talk about it at our meeting on Tuesday. I welcome any and all ideas for future quilts.
