Quilt Exhibit Opportunity Survey

The last time our group had a quilt exhibit was in 2021 at the newly opened Hanover Museum. You can see photos from that exhibit here. The last time we exhibited at the Montpelier Center was 2019.

The center has reached out to us to see if we would like to have a 6 week exhibit in the Montpelier Center starting in September.  We discussed it at the meeting Tuesday night and decided to send out a survey to see if we have enough interest and quilts to do an exhibit. Karen Hughes and Annette Cisik have generously offered to organize it.

But first we have to see if we have enough quilts to pull it off and that's where this survey comes it. It's not an absolute commitment, just a way to gauge interest. Please take a moment to fill it out whether you are interested or not so that we know that everyone saw the opportunity to participate.

I don't have any photos from the 2019 exhibit so I'll share this photo of a quilt I was making during that exhibit. I wish I had it back to include in a potential September exhibit.

February Meeting and Sewing Days

The meeting for February is Tuesday, February 14. Sharon Gustafson is hosting and the topic is sewing-related collections.Sharon says "I quilt", therefore I collect (save, hang on to, put in a box to save for an idea). Just share something you have that you would not have if you didn't quilt."

Do you collect sewing/quilt themed items or collect weird things that "you might need for a project". Bring something that you collect and share with the group.

Sewing Days are a week late this month because of a scheduling conflict with Hanover County. We have the building February  17 - 18 for our sewing days.
