Upcoming Dates & Events -- October 4, 8, 11, & 12

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall weather (my garden could really use some rain, tho, sigh), and making the most of lingering flowers, birds and bees! I've begun some Fall cleaning, too, and am coming up with lots of lovelies for our October Program - Trash To Treasurers! You still have a couple of weeks, so make some time, clean out a drawer or a closet, and guess what, you might just find the treasures to fill 'em up again, HA!

Reminders: October 4th, we take down our quilt show in Montpelier. I have heard from the director, that we have brought lots of foot traffic into the Art Center. If you haven't had occasion to bring your friends, schedule it soon. If you do have a quilt, please be sure to stop by Friday, October 4th between 9 & 10 a.m. or arrange for someone to pick up your quilt(s). Thanks, in advance, to our many volunteers to take the show down. (Especially, the husbands!!!)

October 8th Trash to Treasurers and Show and Tell are featured. Bring something you don't use any more and find something new to try out! Also, it's not just quilting fabrics, tools, patterns, books, magazines, some folks even have canned items from their gardens! Of course, bring your checkbooks so that you can put in your best bids on these items, and help our quilt club to continue to make our purchases of backing and batting for our Veterans Quilts.

October 11th & 12th are our Friday and Saturday sewing days. Come and sew; share what you are up to, and find out what projects everyone else is doing.

If you have completed the squares for our Crazy Quilt for WHEAT, please bring them to our meeting or to sewing days. Many folks have already brought their blocks in, and the quilt is shaping up to be quite a beauty! If you haven't yet started your blocks, or are struggling in any way, feel free to ask questions or turn them back in, no worries!! And, thanks to everyone who has completed theirs! They truly are gorgeous together!!

See everyone soon.....Marcy

Upcoming dates/events

IMPORTANT: For quilt show participants, please bring your quilts and your hanging rods (marked with your name) on this coming Friday, September 6th between 9 - 10 a.m.! If you can help to hang the show, please let Marcy George know at marcyg2009@gmail.com.

Our September meeting is on Tuesday, September, 10th, and our program will be two-fold:

Spend quality time touring our show which will be hung at the Montpelier Arts & Cultural Center (next door), and, if you need a refresher on foundation piecing, I will have some blocks to show you how it can be done -- and how easy it is to fix a "mistake"! Of course, we also want to see show & tell, so please bring your lovelies to share with us!

For those who might have completed blocks for our WHEAT batik crazy quilt effort, please bring them. I have handed out all blocks, but if you would like to participate, please let me know and I will bring more to hand out.

Our sewing days will be Friday & Saturday, September 13th & 14th. If we have many of the finished blocks for WHEAT, we can start playing with arrangements! And, of course, bring your own projects to work on, and plan to visit!

Happy September!
