Quilts ready for pickup

I have 5 quilts ready for binding. I'll be at sewing this weekend if you want to pick yours up.

I also have some surprising news. I ordered (and received) 2 rolls of batting in January for our veterans quilts. A few weeks ago they shipped another roll. I wasn't charged so it must be an accident. I've contacted the company twice with no response. That means we have an extra roll of batting! That will cover 30 more veterans quilts.

March Block of the Month

Barbara Brackman's 2021 BOM is Hands All Around. Each month (2nd Wednesday) readers get a history lesson, a view of blocks to inspire and pattern directions in your choice of 3 sizes.  Nancy and I are making 12" blocks for veterans quilts.

You might like to join us.  Here's a link to the March block:  http://civilwarquilts.blogspot.com/2021/03/hands-all-around-3-annas-choice-for.html

Meeting tomorrow, March 9!!

 Great News!!!

The Montpelier Center has just announced that we can start meeting in their ballroom again! That means we can have our March meeting - tomorrow. :-) I hope many of you will be able to join us. As we did before, we will space out our chairs, and please wear face coverings. Thanks!

One big change - because there is a guitar class meeting in the ballroom from 6 to 7, our meeting will start at 7:15 this month.

We didn't have a program scheduled for March, and with the short notice I don't think there is time to plan anything. But please bring any announcements, and lots of show-and-tell. And since it looks like we will be able to meet going forward, now is a good time to go back and look at the program schedule farther back on the blog, and see about signing up to do a program later this year.

Sewing Days

Registration is open for our Sewing Days for April and May. Please remember that Hanover County restrictions limit us to 9 for each day. If you plan to attend, you need to register through Hanover County; Register online at Sewing Days. Given the limited numbers and the size of our group, if you want to come both days I suggest you start by signing up for one day, then if there is still space when it gets closer, you can sign up for the second day. Let's give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.  April dates are the 9th and 10th; May dates are the 7th and 8th.

There are just a couple of spots remaining for our March Sewing Days on the 12th and 13th, so if you are interested in sewing with us next week, please sign up soon!
