Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! We sure ended 2021 on a high note with our final delivery of veterans quilts (123 for the year) and the delivery stack for 2022 has already started.

We are kicking off the New Year with early sewing days since the 1st falls on Saturday. Our sewing days this month are January 7 - 8.

Our regular meeting is scheduled for January 11. The program for January is First Quilt/Last Quilt. This is a group show and tell event where you can show us how your quilting style or skills have changed over your quilting life. Bring your first (or an early) quilt and your most recent (or somewhat recent) quilt and tell us all about them and your quilting journey.

Don't forget to bring all of your normal show-and-tell too!

Hanover County does require registration for all of these events and you can register on their Event Page, select Clubs and Social to find our events. Registrations is open for all events through May.

We need programs! There are no programs scheduled for 2022 so please consider signing up to provide a program. The signup form is here and there's also a link on the sidebar.

Do you have a great, easy pattern that's perfect for a veterans quilt? We would love to see it.

Do you have a stash of scrap (or applique or whatever your thing is) quilts that would make for a good trunk show? Please share it with us!

Do you want to host a block of the month? Oh yes, we're game.

Are you artistically inclined? We could all use some help learning how to put interesting color combinations together.

There are so many possibilities and each one of you has a talent that we would love for you to share. Please consider hosting a program. We are soo much stronger when we all participate.

One hundred twenty-three!!

This afternoon I'm making the last delivery of veterans quilts for 2021. This is 45 quilts! That brings our total for the year to 123 and that's a new record.

Great work everyone!

Registration for upcoming meetings and sewing days

Hanover County is still asking that we register in advance for our meetings and sewing days.  Registration for the next few months is now available on their website at https://secure.rec1.com/VA/hanover-county-va/catalog.  Click on the link for Clubs and Social, then on Country School Quilters.  Registration is available for December through May; please note that there are two pages of dates!

Also, note that in February our sewing days have been moved to the third Friday and Saturday, the 18th and 19th, due to a County scheduling conflict.
