2. Also, thanks to everyone who picked up multiple blocks to contribute to our WHEAT Crazy Quilt to be made with batiks! Never fear, there are more blocks, so let me know if you would like to make some.
W.H.E.A.T. Crazy
Quilt Rules – August, 2019
100 -- 8” finished blocks made with batiks
Leave ½” all around (9” unfinished block) – staystitch
perimeter close to the edge to protect bias edges
If you want a review of the stitch and flip method, we can
review at sewing days and in September.
Using provided foundations and fabric in slot #1, create as
many blocks as you wish – the more, the better.
Provide the finished blocks to get more.
3. I forgot to announce that I had an email from someone who has a hand quilting frame that she would like to find a new home for. If you are interested, please email her directly. She says she's in Ashland.

4. Up and coming meeting topics:
September -- see our quilt show at the Montpelier Center, and discuss the "sew and flip" foundation method to make our crazy quilt foundation pieced blocks.
October -- Trash to Treasures
November -- Glue basting a quilt for machine quilting, by Peggy Ladner and Becky Brown.
December -- Holiday Potluck Fun
January -- Mary Mills will give us a "Checklist for Quilting" Checklist -- an organized way to ensure you get the most from your quilting experience.
I am ready to sew around the perimeter of my block but cannot remember if I sew close to the inside of the drawn lines or outside. Help, please.
