Jan 8 quilt show at Verena at the Glen

FYI - Last year we provided veterans quilts for their afternoon quilt show, and we have been invited again. If you are interested in doing this please get in touch with Judy, the activities director at Verena at the Glen, number at bottom of her letter.

Greetings,

My name is Judy and I am the activities director at Verena at the Glen over in Glen Allen, VA. I am sure you might have remembered me asking for quilts last October.

I am hosting another quilt show for our residents on Thursday, January 8th from 3:30pm - 5pm and was wondering if you know anyone who would like to showcase their quilts during the event. I am looking for 2-3 quilts to be displayed from your shop/organization and something that represents heritage. It could be a quilt that is passed down through family generations or something that represents cultural and history.

Anything you can to help us out will be greatly appreciated as we want to give our residents a great experience.

Thank you so much and looking forward to hearing from you soon. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Thank you,

Judy Nguyen-Phelps

October Events

Hello, ladies. Hope you are enjoying this wonderful autumn weather now that the rain has moved out. October started on a Wednesday so our monthly meeting will be on Tuesday the 14th. The program will be our annual Trash and Treasure event, so get your donations ready and review your wish list. There will certainly be one or more treasures for you to discover. (Don’t forget the embroidery machine that Dawn is donating!) And speaking of forgetting—remember to bring your nine patch blocks for swapping along with your show and tell.

The next two days, the 15th and 16th, are our Sewing Days. They are always fun. Then we shall complete the work week with a Friday luncheon at Bamboo Restaurant in Montpelier. Gwendolyn requested a Chinese venue so we shall meet at 12:30. Please come out and join the fun. See you soon!
