I received this message from Richmond Quilt Guild. Please contact Sherry if you are interested.
Hi Vicki, this is not an order (although I am a great fan of your hand dyed fabrics). As current president of Richmond Quilters Guild I received a request from the lady who runs exhibitions at Lewis Ginger Botanical Gardens. They had an unexpected last minute exhibit cancellation and asked if RQG would be interested in providing quilts with a botanical, floral or garden theme to hang from the beginning of February through the end of April.
Even though Country School Quilters is no longer connected with RQG, I know that several of you create beautiful art quilts. Some of these could easily fit into the requested theme.
I remember a quilt that Margaret showed at Colonial Piecemakers Guild in Williamsburg several years ago that was almost all greens. That type of quilt would be great with the theme. Estelle immediately comes to mind as well, but I'm sure that you have other members whose quilts would be a great addition.
Do you think that your group would be interested? It will definitely be a rush to collect and deliver quilts but I think that the venue makes it well worth the effort and I'll be glad to coordinate picking up quilts for your interested members.
You can reach me at sherry.whitford@gmail.com or 757-880-6784 (c) or 757-566-1928 (h). Or you might wish to forward this to your group's president. I sent an email to the chapter presidents of RQG with the idea that they would better know who in their chapter might have quilts that would be appropriate.
Thanks,
Sherry

February Dates and reminders!
Sewing Days precede our meeting: 2/7 & 2/8 - come sew on your projects and be in good company!
Monthly meeting: 2/11 at which time Mary Mills will help us prepare our quilts for the Longarmer, "A Checklist for Quilting by Check"!
Things which we need in the future:
1 or 2 volunteers to cycle in as program chairs, as Marcy is cycling out
March program: "After the Mid-Atlantic Show" - what new discoveries are you having fun with! ?Please come back ready to share the "glow of the show" with those of us who might not get to go!
April program: Tools/Techniques
Examples: Denise Z has volunteered to discuss her flanged binding technique. Marcy can tell of her surprising workaround, given her broken finger issues! Who else wants to share?
How are our resolutions going???? HAPPY SEWING! mg

2020 Membership Dues
It's 2020 so that means it's time to pay our annual membership dues of $15.
Pokey will also have CSQ membership forms for us to fill out and we need to fill out the annual form for Hanover County, even if our information hasn't changed. We are so very fortunate to have Hanover County sponsor our group and provide such a great meeting space for us.
Hope to see everyone Tuesday night for Marcy's New Year's Resolution program.
Happy sewing!
